Kun Ichigo Shimbun (tai kuten saatat tuntea sen - Strawberry News!) julkaistiin ensimmäisen kerran huhtikuussa 1975, se oli 12 sivua pitkä ja julkaistiin kahdesti kuukaudessa, maksaen 100 jeniä numerolta! Se alkoi Mansikkakuninkaan ehdotuksesta luoda sanomalehti, joka välittäisi hänen toiveensa siitä, että kaikki maailmassa tulisivat toimeen ja vaalisivat myötätuntoa. 

50-vuotisjuhlan kunniaksi luotiin mansikka-aiheinen kokoelma juhlistamaan kestävää suhdetta Ichigo Mates -yhteisöömme (Ichigo Shimbunin lukijat!). Nauti ja kerää pehmoja, maskotteja ja pieniä asusteita tästä ihanan suloisesta sarjasta.
